    Super Smash thingies

    (don't worry this won't contain spoilers... I think)

    A lot of people have been talking about the new Super Smash Brothers game, I've never played a Smash Bros game (my two consoles by nintendo were the NES and the Wii, I had nothing inbetween, shocking- I know) but looking at the screenshots is amusing.

    This game somehow makes less sense to me then Kingdom Hearts, especially with the dark style that the Zelda series went into with twilight princess. Like there is a mature, angular, darkly shaded Link next to a bright, bouncy, chubby Mario.

    I think the only thing that compares are the Pirates of the Caribbean in the KH games (somehow all the disney at least somewhat meshes with the squenix but realistic Jack Sparrow + Goofy = wtf.)


    It looks like tons of fun though, I'll probably get Brawl when it comes out.

    But one question: can I put Kirby in a pokeball?

    Or better yet, Ganon?

    The whole point of the game is to see characters together you'd normally never see in one game. Especially funny when you see Samus and Pikachu running side by side in the intro. XD

    I just find it funny because these sort of games are the things they teach artists NOT to do, ie mixing together styles and characters that really don't mesh well together... at all...

    I'm sure Pikachu and Samus are BFF.

    It's extremely fun, and doesn't take itself as seriously as Kingdom Hearts does. No, none of them can be put into Pokemon. They don't change the style on basis of trying to remain faithful to the rspective video games while having a good roster of fighters.

    the super smash bros series are SUPPOSED to look a little bit ridiculous. ^^ they really have little to do with the story lines of the games the characters are from. It's not like KH at all.

    *l* Well the reason I brought up Kingdom Hearts is because looking at the Smash Bros screenshots made me flashback to the first time I saw KH and said, "What the hell are Final Fantasy chracters doing with Donald duck?"

    And I wouldn't expect the story lines to connect to their respective games, hell nintendo games often have nothing to do with their previous versions anyway.

    I think trying to stylize all the characters to look similar would actually be interesting, but I can see why they wouldn't.

    and damn, I so wanted to put Ganon into a pokeball XD

    ahahaha kingdom hearts PotC was very bizarre indeed.

    I supposed Smash Brothers makes more sense if you've been familiar with the first one, because almost everybody in it is the same colors; i.e. bright and all that so it doesn't look as disparate.

    Ah, sorry, I don't think you can put characters inside pokeballs ^^;.
    (Though you can sometimes find pokeballs and throw them, then it will come a random pokemon out, and attack your opponent.)

    But there is a lot of other funny things you can do/pickup, during a battle.
    Like picking up a hammer, which make your character go berserk with it. (It looks kinda hilarious stupid, somehow :XD: ) ...

    And no, that wasn't a spoiler of any sort, since that was in smash bros melee :aww:

    PotC world in Kingdom Hearts should just have bg music of someone singing, "one of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belng!"
